About Luisa

Luisa is a teacher of joyous dance classes, a yoga instructor specializing in private sessions, and a licensed massage therapist.

She founded Dance Express in 2016 which continued the work of Sue Benton and Chi Fitness for whom she taught since 1998. Sue still teaches with her today! These are soulful dance classes for adults that celebrate self-expression and joyful movement. It is firmly rooted in the truth that dance is for everyone, and all are welcome. It has been a thriving community spurning a book club, theatre field trips, and quality friendships for over 20 years!

Luisa began working with private yoga clients in Westport in 2003 at Fast Fitness and then at Pinnacle Health & Fitness. She continued her studies in alignment based yoga disciplines, receiving her 200 hour certification with Rolf Gates which included meditation training. She has hosted a yoga retreat in Tuscany, taught meditation and yoga workshops at local gyms, and lead yoga events with companies such as Yves Saint Laurent.

Inspired by how touch enhanced her work as a yoga teacher, she attended The Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and completed a 1200 hour clinical program. She is licensed massage therapist in CT and New York. Her style is intuitive and blends Swedish massage, myofascial release, and energy work. Luisa opened her own practice for yoga and massage in 2016.

With a passion for creativity and the healing power of journaling, Luisa began hosting online creative journaling workshops in 2012. These featured daily writing prompts and a community for sharing. Currently, she offers personalized journaling workshops for individuals working on creative and personal goals, or seeking clarity.

Luisa is a writer of songs, personal essays, and plays. She is a performing singer/songwriter with Twice Around and has co-produced three CDs of original music. She is a theatre lover which manifests itself in myriad ways: a theatre blogger (including serving as Theatre Expert on Book Nation by Jen), a creator (dancer, playwright, choreographer, occasional actor), and an avid audience member seeing dozens of plays and shows each year. She is a member of Theatre Artists Workshop in Westport, CT. Luisa has a BFA in Musical Theatre from The New School which she is proud to have earned at age 50!
